Divination

There are a few spreads that can be with Tarot cards for divination. Another spread for Tarot Cards is a Line spread.

Line

The Line spread is created by using between 3 and 6 cards usually. The person asking the question will draw the number of cards that feels right. The first card is placed to the far left. Card 2 is placed just to the right and so on until all the cards are in line.

3 Card Line

Card #1 -Represents the events of the recent past.

Card #2 - Represents the current state of things.

Card #3 - Represents the near future.

Card #4 - Represents the issue that will be featured within 3 months.

Card #5 and on - Represent the issues or situations that will be present in approximately 3 month intervals.

Smudges & Smudging
Smudging for the Season

Smudging can be used to bring in the new season and recognize the ancient rituals. With the Winter Solstice and Christmas fast approaching, it may be time to honour the season. The Winter Solstice celebrates the death and rebirth of the sun and of all life.

Gather at dusk on the solstice or sit quietly, in a circle if with friends and family. Think about all the things you have to be thankful for. If you are in a group write down what one other person in the group means to you and how they have influenced your life. Give the paper to the person with a gift wish for the coming year, such as strength or health. Sit quietly in the dark as the sun sets; it is important to acknowledge the dark and passing of the sun. In a few moments, begin to light the candles; light enough candles to make the room bright and acknowledge that the sun will and life will return to us.

End the ceremony by smudging yourself, others in the group and to the light of the candles which heralds the suns rebirth.

Pyrite

Pyrite is known as "fool's gold". Pyrite contains Iron Sulfide and is therefore excellent for the respiratory system. It allows the transfer of oxygen into the bloodstream from the lungs. Pyrite is also know to be beneficial to mental clarity. Pyrite's structure is extremely precise and uniquely stable. Pyrite can create a balanced thought process; a balance between the intuitive and the practical. It can also aid in strengthening communication skills and in the release of anxieties.

Pyrite should never be cleansed with water. It should be discharged of negative emotions in sea salt and then sit in the sun for a time.

Meditation Thought for the Month - "A Christmas Vow"

"I will prepare for th coming of the Omni-present baby Christ by cleansing the cradle of my consciousness, now rusty with selfishness, indifference, and sense attachments; and by polishing it with deep, daily, divine meditation, introspection and discrimination. I will remodel the cradle with the dazzling soul-qualities of brotherly love, humbleness, faith, desire for God-realization, will power, self-control, renunciation and unselfishness, that I may fittingly celebrate the birth of the Divine Child."
